Farewell to a Friend

We’re heartbroken, but taking comfort in the hope that we have in Jesus.

Our friend and General Manager of WGTS 91.9, John Konrad passed away on Wednesday, January 2nd, after a brief illness with pneumonia. We are so grateful for your prayers for his wife Dawn and the rest of the family.

If John has impacted your life or you want to leave a message to the family, please leave your remarks in the comments section below. Don’t worry about being too specific or long. Take as much space as you want … the family wants to know.

You’re also invited to a special service in celebration of John’s life and legacy. Everyone is welcome to come. The service will take place at Sligo Adventist Church (7700 Flower Avenue in Takoma Park, MD) on Saturday, January 12th, at 3 p.m.

It’s a Go!

The weather turned out not to be so bad, so come by and stay warm with us at our normal time–6pm in the Mrs. John Hopkins Chapel…and bring a friend!

Christmas Dinner

Come join Gateway Fellowship for a special Christmas Dinner with all the fixin’s and fellowship on Saturday, December 15th at 6pm. We will meet in the Takoma Academy cafeteria (lower level, next to gymnasium). We just need to know if you plan to be there so we can make you a plate of yummy delight.

No tickets necessary, just your RSVP in advance. Thanks–and look forward to seeing you there!

Happy Father’s Day

Happy Father’s Day from your family at WGTS 91.9′s Gateway Fellowship!

“The father of a righteous child has great joy;
a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.” Prov. 23:24

Service Canceled

Due to the inclement weather, and subsequent power outage, WGTS 91.9′s Gateway Fellowship is canceled for tonight. We look forward to seeing you again next week.

All Things New

A new year can mean a clean slate–putting the old things behind us as we look to make self-improvements. But maybe you’ve been down that road before–making new year’s resolutions, only to find yourself back in the same bad habit the next week.

Remember, no one has the power to truly transform themselves. We can only do it through the power of Christ when we humbly submit to Him. Only He can transform us from the inside out. The apostle Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 5:17 “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

So here’s to wishing you a happy new year of relying completely on the One who holds tomorrow!

Merry Christmas!

Christmas today isn’t much different than the first one that happened over 2,000 years ago. People rushing here and there, most unaware of the Christ that was born that night in a small town. In the midst of everything, we hope you can stop and take a moment to search for the baby in a manger.

At WGTS Gateway Fellowship, we have some opportunities to celebrate what the season is about that we hope will shine a light in a dark world. We encourage you to join us at one of our upcoming gatherings. You can check some of them out on our calendar.

Happy Thanksgiving

Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. (Psalm 107:1)

Maybe you’ve heard the song “Blessings” by Laura Story on the radio. It’s about how we pray to God for protection, healing and prosperity. But what if it seems He isn’t listening? She asks: What if your blessings come through raindrops? What if your healing come through tears? What if a thousand sleepless nights is what it takes to know You’re near? And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

Even in the midst of life’s difficulties, we pray you find God’s blessings through it all–it could be what leads to an even greater blessing and outpouring of God’s love for your life.

We are so grateful for your friendship and the opportunity to worship with you each week. May God bless you and your family abundantly this year, through whatever circumstance.

Below, we would love for you to share what you are thankful for, or what adversities have led you to greater blessings.

Happy Thanksgiving!
